The Idea of Her von Ali Gatie hält Features von Ty Dolla $ign, Alessia Cara, Tate MCrae und Marshmello bereit. Nachdem bereits vorab veröffentlichte Snippets überwältigende Reaktionen vonseiten seiner Fans (THE LISNERS) ernteten, veröffentlicht der R&B-Pop-Crooner aus Toronto nun offiziell den Track, in dem er versucht, an einer Liebe festzuhalten. «Can’t Let You Go is about a hopeless romantic holding on to a love that’s long faded. I wrote the song to describe the struggles of moving on and how impossible they may seem at times», sagt Ali über den Song. Begleitet wird die Veröffentlichung von einem wunderschönen Video. “I fell in love with the idea of her.” This project in its entirety is about the idea of love. Using stories and metaphors to showcase the different sides of love. Bigger picture, the opening song is as beautiful and joyful as can be and then “Can’t Let You Go” is as sad and hopeless as it gets, and that’s what this project is about. The rollercoaster of emotions that being in love brings to your life. It’s not just about one relationship, it’s about love as a whole. The type of love that takes a day to happen and the type of heartbreak that takes years to recover from. “Her” is a metaphor for love, and the project is about me being in love with the idea of love.»

Unlängst für drei kanadische Juno Awards nominiert (Artist of The Year, Album of The Year für „YOU“ und Fan Choice Award), singt Ali in seiner gefühlvollen neuen Ballade „Can’t Let You Go“ von Liebe und Verlust, am Ende erstmals auch in seiner Muttersprache Arabisch.
